Pets Are Family Too
At JRP Carpet Care, we know pets are part of the family — and cleaning up after their occasional accidents comes with the territory. To help keep your furry family members safe, comfortable, and stress-free during your appointment, we recommend placing them in a quiet area of the home where they can relax. Some pets may become anxious around unfamiliar people, equipment, or the sounds of vacuums and cleaning tools.
Please let us know ahead of time if there are any special instructions regarding your pets so we can help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for everyone.
For the safety of your pet and best cleaning results, pets should remain off carpeted areas during the cleaning eservice and for a short period during the drying process.
Why Do Carpets Ripple or Wrinkle After Cleaning?
Occasionally, homeowners may notice ripples or wrinkles become more visible after carpet cleaning. While it can appear that cleaning caused the issue, the cleaning process itself is typically not the source of the problem — it simply reveals an existing condition that was already present within the carpet installation.
Over time, carpet can gradually lose tension due to factors such as:
Improper or insufficient original stretching during installation.
Normal aging and wear.
Heavy foot traffic.
Moving furniture.
Humidity and seasonal expansion/contraction.
Pad compression over time.
Carpet fibers and backing naturally absorb a small amount of moisture during professional cleaning. As the carpet relaxes temporarily, pre-existing loose areas can become more noticeable, allowing hidden ripples or waves to appear. In many cases, these areas flatten back down as the carpet dries and returns to normal tension.
However, if ripples were already developing beneath the surface, cleaning can sometimes make them easier to see. This does not mean the carpet was damaged by cleaning.
When wrinkles or waves remain after complete drying, the proper correction is typically professional power stretching, which restores the carpet to its intended tension and appearance.
At JRP Carpet Care, we help homeowners identify whether temporary relaxation will resolve naturally or if stretching is recommended. Proper stretching not only improves appearance but also removes trip hazards, helps prevent premature wear, and can extend the life of your carpet.

How Long Will My Carpets Take to Dry?
At JRP Carpet Care, we believe exceptional cleaning shouldn't mean waiting all day for your carpets to dry. Our goal is to provide one of the most thorough cleanings available while using professional drying techniques to help return your home to normal as quickly as possible.
Johnny comes from a structural drying background, bringing specialized knowledge of airflow, evaporation, and moisture movement into every cleaning appointment. This experience allows JRP Carpet Care to go beyond simply cleaning your carpets — we actively manage the drying process to help accelerate dry times.
To promote rapid drying, we utilize professional air movers along with your home's HVAC system to maximize airflow and moisture evaporation throughout the cleaning process.
Here's what most homeowners can expect:
✔ Open for light traffic immediately after cleaning
✔ Dry to the touch in approximately 2–4 hours in most homes
✔ Thoroughly dry within 24 hours under typical conditions
Dry times can vary based on carpet style, humidity, airflow, temperature, and the level of soiling being addressed.
Please note: Deep targeted subsurface pet odor treatments may require extended drying times due to the additional flushing and restorative processes involved.
At JRP Carpet Care, our goal is simple: deliver a deep, thorough cleaning with faster dry times so you can get back to enjoying your home sooner.
